The Sophisticated Gents
Ten + 3 brings clean lines and culture to projects worldwide.
Gonzalo Bueno has long been a star in our book. His name regularly appears on D Home’s Best Designer list. His projects — including his West Highland Pard home — regularly grace the pages of our magazine. His design firm, Ten + Three, which he co-owns with Mauricio Lobeira, has design work all over the world. His photos appear regularly in society pages, and he’s friends with some of the coolest people in town. All of that could be intimidating, but speak to anyone who knows Bueno. He is one of the kindest and most talented people in the business.
Bueno an Lobeira began traveling to Dallas in 1996 to shop. A few years later, the Monterrey-based designers opted to set up a sister company here to manage their U.S.-based business. They have become well-known for their clean, modern style. Bueno has said that working in different countries provides opportunities to mix cultures and styles, but that Dallas, has become home in part because of the fantastic showrooms. But Bueno also loves the people. He says the people of Dallas are very similar to the people of the Mexican state San Pedro Garza GarcÍa, where he grew up. “They are all hardworking and achievers. That is why doing business here is so attractive,” he says.
